As Art Director, Dean Vaccaro handles all the pre-production graphics
work for U.S. Magnetix. Creating designs and dielines, scanning
and retouching images, color separating, laser printing and outputting
film are among his many duties. Dean is always available to work
directly with our customers, answering questions and helping to
insure they get the best-looking product possible!
Dean joined the U.S. Magnetix team in 1998 with a background in
freelance web design and some garment printing experience, but no
formal training in the field. He is a self-taught artist who in
the past has worked on projects for such notable clients as Hard
Rock Hotel (Las Vegas), Jay & Silent Bob, the Twin Cities Marathon,
Uppercut Boxing Gym, Grand Casinos, and King Kini’s Club Velvet
to name a few.
In 1997, Dean’s first attempt at an original font, “Jitterbug,”
was featured in the book, “Faces on the Edge: Type in the
Digital Age” by New York Times design critic and AIGA guru,
Steven Heller.
An avid record collector in his spare time and veteran club DJ,
Dean Vaccaro can many evenings be found spinning in one of Minneapolis’s
underground nightspots ‘til the wee hours. He is a founding
member of the improvisational house music collective Tambuca, and,
needless to say, also serves as the group’s art director. |
